Berthine van Schoor
and the Thaleia Ensemble
Berthine and the Thaleia Ensemble provide classical music to enhance

CV - Berthine van Schoor
In 1987 Berthine graduated from Stellenbosch University with a B Mus Honours (cum laude)
In 1989 she studied in Austria with Heidi Litschauer at the Mozarteum, Salzburg.
Berthine has performed throughout Europe under various conductors.
In 1993 Berthine received her concert diploma and became principal cellist at the Philharmonic orchestra of Bad Reichenhall.
She was a member of the Salzburg String Quartet, the Fledermaus Salon Orchestra and the Johan Strauss Salon Trio
Berthine was principal cellist of the Salzburg Mozart Chamber Orchestra, Musici and Pro Musica
She received her Masters Degree in June 2000
At present Berthine lectures at Pretoria University, teaches at
several music schools, is project manager for SAMET, a member of the Chamber orchestra
of South Africa and performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician.
