Etienne Shardlow is a computer geek by day, and by night, to quote Monty Python is 'something completely different'. Etienne has been involved in the South African entertainment industry for the last two years as both a DJ of Township Jazz & Pop and stand-up comic. As a comedian he is most well known for his schoolboy act which always brings the house down, if not for his deadpan comedy routine then for the school uniform that would fit him if he were still 14. African Music is Etienne's passion and when he's not on stage with 'The Comedy Shop' he is in a township jazz club helping the locals get down to the sounds of township disco. Etienne also DJ's at functions where his knowledge of music across racial and age barriers is used to keep the rainbow nation on their feet. Etienne is looking forward to making his break into radio where he hopes to put his music knowledge to it's best use "educating the nation about the music that has made us who we are today". Etienne has performed on the comedy circuit with Joe Parker's Comedy Express at Carnival City, Hurricanes Action Bar, Emerald Casino, Keg & Carnival in Meyersdal & Boston Tea Party. In the past he also performed regularly at John Vlismas' Comedy Underground and Uptown Comedy Underground. His comedy routine is very familiar to fans in the South of Johannesburg where he has performed at numerous pubs and clubs. Etienne is concentrating mostly on his work with "The Comedy Shop" but still performs with Joe Parker's Comedy Express every now and then.
