Summary ProfileMark was born in Manchester in 1959, the year Valium was discovered. He arrived in South Africa at age nine, receiving his education in the Cape. He subsequently worked as an usher, a bit-player, and stage and company manager before the vision of his future came in a blinding flash - that of presenting a one man show.
His first break came at the Grahamstown Festival in 1986 where he was spotted by Diane Wilson, after which he did a number of revues, culminating in hundreds of shows all around South Africa.
He has been slated and praised by the press and the public ever since. His productions - which he both writes and performs, have played to packed houses nationwide and Mark is widely recognised as one of the favourite Master of Ceremonies at corporate functions from Awards banquets to Conferences at which he provides light relief through the event, to golf days and the like. Mark is well known for his satirical, fun-pokery at the expense of the rich and famous, and for his memorable stand-up comedy routines in front of many thousands of the country's top decision makers around the country.
He describes himself as an abject gambler and commentator and is currently completing a volume of works on Chinchilla Respiratory Tract Infections in time for this year's Christmas stocking.
