Kristel is an accomplished, versatile electric violinist. A seasoned musician, she underwent extensive formal training from age 6. This culminated in a BMUS and a MMUS degree from Wits University, where she majored in performance.

She performs in a variety of styles and settings.

 She has made guest TV appearances on e-TV's Backstage (2005), and has appeared as a violinist on Egoli (2006/7/9).
 South African Music Award (SAMA) Nomination (2010) for her live DVD ‘The Sea in Spring’.
 Solo artist for Glo Cell Sea Cable Launch in Ghana (2011).
 Solo artist for Madagascan Lottery Launch (2011)
 Finalist in the Gibson Acoustic Music Competition, Tanz Cafe (2011).
 Solo artist for the launch of Microsoft Tech Ed (2011).

Other notable performances include: playing for the curtain raiser to the Lions vs. British Lions Rugby Match at Ellis Park (2009) and the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown (2009/2010).
