Gustav was born in the Karoo and the wide open spaces fuelled his passionate fire and interest in nature. As honorary game ranger with the SA National Parks he spent a lot of time in the bush where he observed and learned from the animals. The past two decades Gustav has been in the sport and leisure industry where he is at present the CEO of Matkovich and Hayes, the renowned golf course design and construction company, which is a fully owned subsidiary of WBHO, the listed construction entity on the Johannesburg Stock exchange. This corporate knowledge has helped him to make the lessons from the bush practical and relevant to the work and corporate world. Gustav’s talk uses analogies from the bush to promote teamwork between staff members in order for every individual to take ownership in the organization that he/she works in. His powerful and riveting presentation uses spectacular video inserts and slides of animal interaction to explain teamwork, communication, problem solving within teams, how to achieve objectives and how to create a better working environment. Gustav firmly believes the solution to the problem lies in the African bush, with lessons often spellbinding in their simplicity and with excellent examples of these lessons being practiced on our doorsteps. We only have to open our senses to them. He has presented with a no-holds barred approach at numerous forums and for different organizations and companies with great success the past 10 years. His talk is adaptable to suit the need of the client and the length can be varied based on the respective program and agenda of the organizers. The professional presentation motivates and inspires team members to perform better and will be talked about and remembered by those who attend for quite some time post the presentation.
